THE LERWICK Lifeboat Michael & Jane Vernon has a new coxswain.


Second coxswain Bruce Leask has taken the helm after serving coxswain Neil Clarkstood down due to new work commitments offshore.

Lifeboat operations manager Iain Tulloch said: "We are very pleased that Bruce has taken on the role as coxswain. He is an experienced crew member of eight years, three of which he has acted as second coxswain."

A crew of 16 volunteers man the Lerwick lifeboat, including Neil Clark who will continue to serve as a crew member when he is at home in Shetland.
